Alessandro Mattoni is research director at the Italian Research Council and director of the unit of Cagliari of the Istituto Officina dei Materiali, where he coordinates a theory group on the multiscale modeling of nanomaterials.
He received a master degree in physics at the University of Perugia and a PhD in solid state physics at the University of Padova.
His research focuses on polymers and hybrid perovskites for photovoltaics and nanoelectronics. He developed the first interatomic force-field for classical molecular dynamics of hybrid perovskites.
